Grocery Outlet Bargain Market to Open Second Long Beach Location Thursday

The second Grocery Outlet Bargain Market to land in Long Beach will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony from 8:00AM to 10:00AM, a $1,000 donation in food and groceries will be given to local nonprofit, Food Finders, while $2,000 will be donated to Precious Lamb Preschool, which seeks to serve Long Beach’s homeless community.

Customers can stop by between 11:00AM and 1:00PM for a complimentary lunch provided by Primal Alchemy with any purchase and while supplies last, according to the announcement.

Steve Uhrinak and Karie Stepanski, who will operate the Seventh Street location, have invited the community to a second event on Saturday, August 27 and will give patrons an opportunity to win $1,000 in groceries and other prizes all day between 8:00AM and 10:00PM.

The new store’s first 100 customers starting at 8:00AM on Saturday will receive $10 gift cards, while two lucky people will receive two $250 gift cards. Between 11:00AM to 2:00PM you can also support the Long Beach Poly Girls Water Polo Team with a purchase of a $1 hot dog and drink.

The first Long Beach store opened in February of this year near Millikan High School in the 6000 block of East Spring Street and is independently owned and operated by Jonathan and Jennifer Lawton.


 

A third-generation family-led company, Grocery Outlet was founded in 1946 and is based in Emeryville. The company boasts over 250 locations in California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington, according to the release. This will one of the 19 new stores set to open in Orange County and Los Angeles County by the end of the year.
