In celebration of their one year anniversary and just in time for the holidays, The B Room, an upscale, vintage-style, barber salon in downtown Long Beach, will host It’s a Drag to Give, a Toy and Coat Drive with a Drag Show at the Breakers Ballroom on Thursday night, December 10 at 7:00PM.

Supported by Queer Mafia, a network of LGBTQ professionals and allies that love to give back, It’s a Drag to Give is promising to be one of the most entertaining charitable events of the year. And Isa, Josie and Rocio Rached of the B Room have opened the event to everyone.

“Long Beach has been really good to the B Room and we want very much to give back,” said Isa Rached in a statement. “It’s the Long Beach way.”

Guests can help the B Room by bringing to the show a new, unwrapped toy or a quality used or new coat. All the proceeds will go toward the Woman’s Shelter of Long Beach and the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach. Anyone who brings an item to donate will be entered into a drawing for prizes from the 14 supporting Long Beach businesses, such as Public Beer Wine Shop, Recreational Coffee, ELEV8, Michael’s Pizzeria and WE Labs, just to name a few.

Drag performances by Sue Shi, Justin Betweenherlegs, Anita Big Mac and Areola Grande will provide the raucous entertainment for the evening. These performers have never done drag professionally, but will take the stage as a group of beautiful men willing to rock some pumps for a good cause. Spoken word and singing entertainment will be performed by Olivia Loraine, Alana, Tiffany Hasse and Thadeo, to be introduced by two dynamic hosts, community advocate Mark “Markie” Magdaleno and the ever-energetic Giovanna Ferraro of Groundwork Fitness.

The event begins Thursday at 7:00PM with a DJ and drinks, while the first performance will begin at 7:30PM. For more information and to RSVP, visit the event page here.

The Breakers is located at 210 East Ocean Boulevard.
