More than 50 seasoned, emerging and young artists participated in the ninth annual Belmont Shore Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest where $1000 in prizes were given out to winning works.
Presented by Justin Rudd's Community Action Team, the contest takes place each year along Second Street between Roycroft and Laverne Avenues. Artists are given pastels and drawing paper, which they can affix to the sidewalk with blue tape. After the pieces are judged, the works can be sold on the spot or artists can take them home.
This year's Best In Show was awarded to Willie Zin of Long Beach.
