The seventh annual LA Beer Week is arriving early this year on Saturday, June 20 through Sunday, June 28, to complement the first several days of summer with a cold one, or two, or three. Here’s how you can celebrate LA Beer Week, Long Beach-style from uptown to downtown and as far away as the oft-forgotten East.

The Factory Gastrobar

Without a doubt, this lager-loving Uptown locale always has something brew-related going on. Every day of LA Beer Week, guests can get a $5 draft if they wear their Factory IPA or Factory Oktoberfest T-shirt. On Monday, June 22 any guest wearing an LA County brewery or Factory shirt can purchase a draft for $5.

On Wednesday, June 24, the gastrobar will host “NeighBREWhood LBC” where residents and professional brewers Chris Walowski of Smog City Brewing and Jerrod Larsen of Tustin Brewing will bring some of their faves for guests to taste. Those that stick around can talk beer, life, politics, religion, war, literature and any other topics that certainly will come up after a few drinks have been downed.

“NIGHT OF 1000 IBUs” on Thursday, June 25 is an annual hop-takeover. New hoppy brews La Quinta, King Harbor, Congregation, New Belgium, Noble and Three Weavers will make their Factory debut.

“No we don’t have a hefe or a pilsner—only giant hoppy beer that will wreck your palate and make you talk funny!” said Owner and Chef Natalie Gutenkauf.

Last, but not least, LADIES DAY on Saturday, June 27 will feature a keg of Unite Pale Ale that was brewed to celebrate International Women’s Day. All ladies can drink this brew for $2/pint from open to close.

“It’s only appropriate that the female-owned Factory Gastrobar has a day in LA Beer Week set aside for the ladies!” said Gutenkauf.

Alex’s Bar

On Tuesday, June 23 hard core drinkers and singers can enjoy a night of Heavy Metal Karaoke at Alex’s Bar, bringing you the Hells Bell’s-style hops and brews Expedition Stout, Quinannan Falls, The Wild One and Oarsman Ale. For more information, be sure to visit the Facebook event page here.

On Tuesday, June 23 Beachwood will surrender 15 taps to Cascade Brewing to serve some of the finest sour beers in the world, including several of the “Live” series, as well as several that have never been served outside the brewery’s tasting room in Portland, OR.

Cellarmaker and Friends will present eight Cellarmaker beers on Wednesday, plus offerings from seven of their friends The Rare Barrel, Sante Adairius, Marin Brewing, Berryessa Brewing Social Kitchen & Brewery, Monkey Paw & Societe Brewing.

It’s a distance from the shore, but if you’re down for a roasted pig-on-a-spit-type celebration, check out this neighborhood joint’s outdoor wood burning rotisserie and Roast Pork Dinner to follow for $12.

Wash down that juicy pork with a slew of boozy beverages from the sports bar’s week-long Ballast Point Tap Takeover, including a $7 flight of Pale Ale, Grunion Pale Ale, Calico Amber Ale, Sculpin, Grapefruit Sculpin and Watermelon Dorado Double IPA.
