UPDATE: Ashlee Armond, Missing Since Friday Night, Found Dead in Submerged Vehicle

UPDATE  |  by Brittany Woolsey  |  Ashlee Armond, who went missing Friday night and was reported missing Saturday, was found dead in her vehicle late Saturday night, submerged in the Los Cerritos Channel authorities said.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers located a 2001 green Honda Civic in the Los Cerritos Channel at Fifth Street, east of Silvera Avenue, the LBPD said in a statement. Police believed the vehicle may have belonged to 20-year-old Armond.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel, including the dive team, responded to the scene and began a rescue operation. They were able to locate and remove the car, and Armond was found inside. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation found that Armond was driving eastbound on Fifth Street when she failed to stop at the end of the roadway and drove into the Los Cerritos Channel. Detectives deemed the crash accidental.

Armond was reported missing around 11:30AM Saturday morning. She was last seen just after midnight the night before, leaving her best friend's house in East Long Beach. According to the LBPD, she was heading to her boyfriend's house, located in the area of Palo Verde Ave. and Del Amo Blvd. She was reported missing when it was discovered that she never arrived at the boyfriend's house, and multiple attempts to contact her failed. Armond was the daughter of an LBPD officer.

PREVIOUSLY: 20-year-old Ashlee Armond Reported Missing, Last Seen in Long Beach

12/12/14 8:17PM  |  by Asia Morris  |  According to her cousin, Adam Mischlich, President and CEO of Movement Public Relations, 20-year-old Ashlee Armond was reported missing at approximately 11:30AM today, Saturday, December 13. The report was filed with the Long Beach Police (LBPD) who are asking for the public's help in finding her. 

Armond was last seen just after midnight, leaving her best friend's house in her vehicle from the area of 7th St. and Margo Ave. in East Long Beach, according to Mischlich and the LBPD. According to Mischlich she was heading to her boyfriend's house, located in the area of Palo Verde Ave. and Del Amo Blvd., also located in East Long Beach, but she never arrived. Her parents have not been able to contact her since then, which is unusual, according to Mischlich. He also said Armond's father is a member of the LBPD.  

Armond is five feet, two inches tall, weighs 110 pounds, is hispanic, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a red t-shirt and black yoga pants. She drives a green Honda Civic with license plate number 4YDU298, according to a post by @MovementSpeaks on Instagram

According to the LBPD, all attempts to locate her have failed and she has never gone missing before. She is said to be very dependable and stays in contact with family and friends. She failed to show up for work today, which is also very unusual. The circumstances of her disappearance appear suspicious and the LBPD is asking the public to help locate her or her vehicle.
