LBPD Conducts Alcoholic Beverage Control Inspection, No Citations Issued

The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) announced Tuesday that their Vice Investigations Section, in cooperation with investigators from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) conducted an “ABC IMPACT Inspection” operation throughout Long Beach on Saturday, April 18.

According to the release, ABC IMPACT Inspection operations target ABC licensed establishments who sell alcohol, such as restaurants, bars, liquor stores, convenience stores and grocery stores. The purpose of the inspections is to assess the business' compliance with current ABC laws and educate them regarding any non-compliance issues.

27 establishments were inspected on Saturday and while several warnings were given for violations such as missing signage, no citations were issued. Business owners and employees were advised regarding any ABC non-compliance.

The LBPD was “pleased to see so many establishments in compliance with ABC laws,” and will continue to enforce said laws at all establishments throughout the city.

Anyone wishing to report illegal behavior relating to the unlawful sale of alcohol or ABC law violations should contact the Vice Investigations Section at (562) 570-7219.
