The 2015 Special Olympics World Games will be held in Southern California starting Saturday, July 25 and ending Sunday, August 2. Athletes from around the world—from 177 countries, to be exact—will compete in various sporting events.

Outstandingly, the City of Long Beach will host seven of these events in the downtown marina/beach area and at Marine Stadium and Belmont Pier. Events include a triathlon, half-marathon, open water swim, cycling, beach volleyball, sailing and kayaking.

And while these events are sure to draw a fun crowd, the traffic involved with getting there (or out of there) will be an entirely different story. Here are the street closures related to the events listed above, provided by the Long Beach Police Department. You are politely advised to please plan accordingly.
