Firefighters Knock Down Friday Flames Near Cal State Long Beach and on Pine Ave.

Long Beach firefighters wasted no time Friday morning in knocking down multiple fires throughout the city, including one near Cal State Long Beach and the other along Pine Avenue, Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) officials reported.

Firefighters got a call regarding an apartment fire on the 2200 block of San Anseline Avenue, near Cal State Long Beach, at 8:49AM and arrived at 8:53AM, LBPD spokesman Jake Heflin said.

Fire personnel reported seeing light smoke in the rear of the medium-sized, garden-style apartment, he said. Only an unoccupied unit was affected.

Firefighters knocked down the fire at 8:58AM.

A vehicle fire at a parking garage on the 100 block of West Fourth Street in downtown Long Beach was reported shortly after, officials said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 10:49AM and subsequently knocked down the fire at 10:59AM. No injuries were reported.
