County Supervisors Renew $10,000 Reward Leading to Arrest in Fatal Long Beach Hit-and-Run

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors renewed a $10,000 reward on Tuesday for information leading to the arrest of a motorist suspected of fatally hitting a 55-year-old Long Beach man in a wheelchair in early 2015, officials said.

According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), Jose Guevarra was crossing Santa Fe Avenue near Lincoln Street when he was struck by a motorist driving a late-model green sedan, possibly a BMW, at about 9:50PM on Friday, February 13.

Guevarra was apparently thrown from his wheelchair by the impact.

Supervisor Don Knabe, who recommended the reward, called the case an “incredibly heinous crime.”
