A naked man in his 30s was briefly restrained and later taken to a local hospital early Wednesday morning after allegedly breaking windows and screaming in a downtown Long Beach apartment complex, authorities said.
Officers responded to the Cedar Towers apartment building at about 3:00AM on Wednesday, August 26, on the 300 block of Cedar Avenue to calls of a screaming man and glass breaking in the complex’s courtyard, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona said.
One resident, Gabriela Di Sarli, said she heard the man yelling that he was Jesus Christ and can read minds. She said she witnessed him breaking multiple neighbors’ windows and bleeding profusely.
Arriving officers found several broken windows and located the man who was then transported to a local hospital by paramedics, according to Arrona.
No arrest has been made but the investigation remains ongoing, officials said.
