Long Beach police are asking for the public's help in locating an "armed and dangerous" Wilmington resident in connections with the fatal gang-related shooting of a young Long Beach man over the summer, authorities said.
Albert Jesse Rodriguez, 19, is believed to have shot and killed 18-year-old Ruben Barrera on June 5 during a gang-related dispute, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
Officers responded to the shooting at 11:55PM at the 5400 block of Elm Avenue, where they found Barrera struck by gunfire in the upper body, officials said.
After an extensive investigation, homicide detectives presented their case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which issued a $2 million arrest warrant on June 19.
Authorities said Rodriguez remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Suspect Rodriguez is urged to contact Long Beach Police Homicide Detectives S. Lasch, T. Hubert, and M. Hubbard at 562.570.7244.
