The student reported the incident to university police on Saturday, August 27, according to a crime bulletin posted Monday.

The party did not have any connection to a fraternity or sorority, according to CSULB spokesman Mike Uhlenkamp.

Authorities have identified a person of interest in the case, who Uhlenkamp described only as a male student.

Officials said the female student has chosen not to press charges and the incident will not be further investigated by university police.

The nature of the sexual assault was not disclosed. However, officials said the student received services and was provided with resources.

The University Police Department reminded students, staff and faculty of general safety tips provided by the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).
