Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center Nominated for a Prevue Visionary Award

The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center has been nominated for a Prevue Visionary Award, alongside the Anaheim Convention Center, ARIA Resort & Casino Convention Center in Las Vegas, Melbourne Convention Center, Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, San Jose McEnery Convention Center and Swiss Tech Convention Center.

Prevue, published by Worth International, is a digital and print magazine that features “compelling hotels, resorts and group venues that empower and motivate attendees.” The 2014 Visionary Awards will be given to “recognize venues, destinations and suppliers that have leveraged technology and innovation in creative and groundbreaking ways to enhance the meeting and event experience,” according to the site.

The Long Beach Convention center was nominated for several reasons, including its flexibility with multiple event choices so attendees are less likely to leave the campus area in between trade shows and meetings, along with its $1.6 million state-of-the-art lighting, sound and video system upgrade, all controllable by iPad. The site also mentions the center’s newly revamped Pacific Gallery with its “chic pod-style seating with customized lighting.”

This is where you come in, dear readers. The contest is open to public opinion, meaning you can vote for any of the seven convention centers nominated for the award until August 31. Alongside your vote for the Visionary Award, a panel of judges will choose one winner for the Pillar Award per three different categories, Return on Experience, Return on Investment and Return on Collaboration. We’d like to wish our convention center the best of luck. Let’s help highlight one of the most state-of-the-art buildings we have.
