Supporting the Long Beach Post

Membership

We believe that local news should be financially supported by the community it serves. To that end, we have a membership program designed to fit most budgets:

  • Basic Access is $8 per month for an annual membership or $10 for a monthly membership;
  • All Access is $12 per month for an annual membership and $15 for a monthly membership;
  • Premium Access is $20 per month for an annual membership and $25 for a monthly membership.

More information on these plans can be found at lbpost.com/join.

We also believe that news should be accessible, regardless of your ability to pay. If you have a financial hardship, please contact us [email protected].

Champion Circle

As a member of our Champion Circle, you will enjoy all of the same benefits as a Premium Access member, but will also receive a personal thank you from the publisher, inclusion in our annual community impact report and an annual gift.

Of course, the biggest benefit is knowing that you’re supporting the largest newsroom in Long Beach, and helping us to sustain and expand our work into the future.

To become a member of the Champion Circle, make an annual donation of $1,200.

If you would like to give a gift in a different amount, please contact our membership team at [email protected]. Or, you can make a tax-deductible donation to our Investigative Reporting Fund.

Investigative Reporting Fund

Investigative journalism takes time and resources. It is also essential to keeping leaders accountable, and ensuring tough questions are always being asked.

Our current investigative reporting project, Locked Out: Homelessness in Long Beach, examines the city’s homelessness crisis with a focus on how millions of dollars in public funding have been spent, and whether this spending has been effective.

You can be part of this kind of essential journalism by making a tax-deductible donation to our Investigative Reporting Fund, which is fiscally sponsored by the nonprofit Local Media Foundation (tax ID #36‐442775). To donate, click here.

California Local News Fellowship

The California Local News Fellowship program is a multi-year, state-funded initiative to support and strengthen local news reporting, with a focus on underserved communities. Administered by UC Berkeley, the program places up to 40 fellows in newsrooms for two-year, full-time reporting positions.

The Long Beach Post will be hosting one fellow in September 2023. The reporter’s salary is funded jointly by the state and the host newsroom.

If you are interested in making a contribution to fund this position, please email [email protected].

Advertising

The Long Beach Post has the largest news staff, with the largest reach, of any media outlet in the city. We have an average 1.6 million page views to our website per month, 250,000 engaged followers across our social platforms, and close to 40,000 readers who subscribe to our newsletters. If you have a business, nonprofit or any product or service to advertise, please contact us at [email protected]. For information about advertising options, visit lbpost.com/ads.

Other Sponsorship Opportunities

We invite partnerships with local businesses interested in sponsoring our community-driven projects, events and initiatives. To learn more about current sponsorship opportunities, please email [email protected].
