2:50pm | Downtown Long Beach is celebrating the New Year with a variety of exciting activities that will be sure to get everyone revved up for 2012. In addition to the DLBA’s New Year’s Eve celebration which features two massive parties – the free, family-friendly Waterfront event from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, and the ticketed high-energy street party on Pine from 7:00pm to 2:00am – there are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the season in Downtown Long Beach.

33 Degrees, 9 p.m.
DJ SMS will bring in 2012 with great music at 33 Degrees. No cover and casual attire.

Café Sevilla, 7 p.m.
Choose from the Midnight Celebration Dinner, featuring a four course dinner with live Rumba entertainment for $69.95 per person, the Flamenco Dinner Show, with a four course dinner for $69.96 per person, and club admission for $30 pre-sale and $40 general admission.

District Wine, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Ring in the New Year with Tini Grey who will be playing covers and fun rock songs. Watch the ball drop at midnight with a free bubbly toast. No cover.

DLBA’s Waterfront Celebration, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Downtown’s waterfront amphitheatre will come alive with a flurry of activities and roaming performers, including magicians, face painters and balloon artists. Local live bands CPO & The SAPS and Them Novus will serve up family-friendly music and a trackless train will offer free rides along the esplanade between the Aquarium of the Pacific and Shoreline Village. At 9 p.m., the sky lights up for an East Coast countdown with a ten minute fireworks spectacular. Don’t miss the final hour of live music as families welcome the New Year together.

DLBA’s Pine Avenue Celebration, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Love Fool will open the show with a rocking 90s set and in keeping with the countdown theme, they’ll be back for a 80s mix that will set the tone for the event headliner. Wayward Sons, a celebrated 70s cover band, will wow the crowd. At midnight, the countdown to 2012 will begin. At midnight, fireworks will light up the sky for the New Year. Outdoor bars will serve up spirits, allowing guests to enjoy food and beverages without missing a minute of live music.

Fuego at the Hotel Maya
There are plenty of great choices at Fuego this New Years. Choose from a $100 and $150 meal packages, there’s also a $40 hors d’oeuvres package, and a variety of VIP packages.

My Big Fat Greek New Year’s Eve Party at George’s Greek Café, 5 p.m. & 9 p.m.
George’s will have two seatings for their New Year’s Eve party featuring a great selection of Greek food. The 5 p.m. seating is $35 and the 9 p.m. seating is $45. The late seating includes live music, dancing, party favors and a balloon

New Year’s Eve at Harvelle’s features a 21 and over show by Café R&B, a powerhouse blues and R&B performer. All inclusive tickets are $75 and include admission, party favors and an open bar all night – gratuity included. Table reservations start at $50. Dinner is also available.

Start the year out in style, experience seven different onboard parties where there’s a little something for everybody. Enjoy jazz in one of our historic salons, sing along to Dueling Pianos, put on your dancing shoes for music of the 70’s, 80’s and all-night sets by local DJ’s for $99 per ticket.

Sgt. Peppers Dueling Pianos, 7:30 p.m.
Sgt. Peppers is offering three packages for New Year’s Eve, ranging from $50 to $75 a seat. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and pianos start at 8:30 p.m.

The Sky Room will have two seatings, one at 5 p.m. for $79 and one at 9 p.m. for $159. Entrée choices include Chilean sea bass, butter poached lobster and prime filet mignon.

Serving a five course meal with entrée choices including grilled filet mignon, grilled salmon, mushroom ravioli, they’re also serving off of their regular menu from 5 to 9 p.m. Live music will be playing all evening.
