New Panda, a fast-food Chinese restaurant in the Poly neighborhood of Long Beach, was temporarily closed on Monday, September 26, after health inspectors discovered flies and cockroaches throughout the facility, according to the health report.

The facility closed at 10:40AM and was reopened, with the vermin exterminated around 2:00PM the same day, according to the report.

Inspectors reportedly found three live, medium-sized cockroaches, nymphs and flies in the preparation of the sink, floor and towel racks and cabinets, and numerous food storage and food temperature violations relating to meat and noodles.

Other violations included a restroom sink with a broken handle, three bins without labels, personal items like purses stored with dry goods and chemicals stored on top and next to clean utensils.

Inspectors are slated to follow up with an inspection on October 10.
