No Injuries Reported in Downtown High-Rise Balcony Fire • Long Beach Post

A balcony on the eighth floor of a downtown Long Beach high-rise caught on fire Tuesday but no one was injured, according to authorities.

The incident was reported at 11:41AM at the West Ocean Towers condos, located at 400 West Ocean Boulevard. When fire units arrived at 11:44AM they noticed fire on the exterior of the balcony but upon entering the unit the fire was already extinguished, according to Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) spokesman Jake Heflin.

Heflin could not confirm if anyone was inside the unit at the time of the fire but did confirm there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
