The DA's office today charged Bryan Blancas with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of violation of civil rights, one count of dissuading a witness by force or threat and one count of battery.
The arrest comes after concerned parents and community members gathered in front of Poly High School on Monday to call on school administrators and police to take action in what they believe were race-related jumpings.
Police officers serving a search warrant on Friday afternoon found a "potentially explosive device," officials said, leading them to shut down streets in the MacArthur Park area.
