“I wanted to co-create an ecosystem where we could discover a diverse range of pioneering women and men as role models, and cultivate a network where women were supporting and educating other women through their journey toward building success in tech, STEAM and innovation,” said Lisa Mae Brunson, founder of Wonder Women Tech, in a statement.

Five winners will be announced for the women, who entered the #InvestInABoss Pitch Competition in May. The pitch is featured as one of many events at Wonder Women Tech.

Winners will be judged on their initial pitch video submission by a panel of judges, which include industry professionals, city officials, and VC/Angel Investors, according to a release. Winners will receive a custom crowd-sourced funding and resource campaign for one year, along with exposure of investors and potential customers.

Other events will include innovative talks and panels from over 150 speakers ranging from women in computing, C-Suite women, business leaders, techies, inventors, investors, best-selling authors and award winning scientists and pioneers. Some of the panel and conference programming topics include:

  • Women Lean In – Creating a Powerful Ecosystem of Women Mentoring Women
  • Avoiding Mass Exodus – Keeping Women in Technology
  • Panoramic View — The Global Impact on Diversity and Inclusion in Tech
  • Leveraging Innovation to Improve Quality in Healthcare
  • Latinas in STEAM – Women Paving The Road Ahead

Keynote speakers and special guests consist of President of UN Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Almas Jiwani, Crunchbase Director of Content Gené Teare and diversity thought leader Everette Taylor.

Aside from the speaker lineup, there will be a meet and greet networking lounge where the attendees can engage with the speaker, interactive demos and maker spaces, and a free career fair and expo that will be available for those registered in advanced. The conference will also have workshops for Seniors and the Deaf and Disabled community, a Junior Innovation Camp, and a Learning Center, where the underrepresented children and adults can learn to code and create games.

“This will be a great event, which will highlight many local and international innovators, techies, and creatives who have revolutionized our economic and cultural life,” said Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia in a statement. “It’s especially exciting that this event is led by women, will include interactive educational experiences, and will inspire girls and other underrepresented groups to join the ranks of pioneers in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.”

The Wonder Women Tech Conference will begin Saturday, July 16 at 7:00AM and run through Sunday, July 17 at 5:30PM. Tickets are available here
