Happy last Wednesday of November. You know the drill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a week of Drinksgiving, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday<\/strong> and perhaps a few Friendsgiving<\/a> parties preceding that week \u2014 you might be ready to bypass December altogether. Or perhaps you\u2019re chomping at the bit for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we\u2019re going to talk about all manner of things that do this: *\u0a48\u2729\u2027\u208a\u02da\u2727\u02d6\u00b0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case you didn\u2019t get that, I\u2019m talking about holiday lights. No matter where you sit on the Cindy-Lou<\/strong> to Grinch<\/strong> spectrum, it\u2019s hard to hate on the twinkly-sparklies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s plenty that will be illuminated in Long Beach, from the Convention Center<\/strong> to Daisy Avenue <\/strong>to the newer neighborhood holiday arches<\/a> on the Eastside<\/strong>. While some of these destinations will be accessible by car, a few will get you out walking off last week\u2019s potatoes \u2018n\u2019 such. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a later newsletter, I\u2019m also going to mention a few out of town<\/strong> holiday light destinations that won\u2019t disappoint, so stay tuned for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, grab a friend, your family or maybe a cute date and let\u2019s \u2014 as the kids say \u2014 get lit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naples Island Christmas Lights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m going to start with an obvious one. But if it isn\u2019t obvious to you, it will<\/em> blow your sockets. Naples Island, just south of Belmont Shore is one of Long Beach\u2019s highest-heeled hoods. It\u2019s a place where (most of) the canal-facing dwellers light up their homes from foundation to chimney \u2014 and all of those twinkly-sparklies are reflected back on the water *chef\u2019s kiss*. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But we\u2019re not talking just about lights, most of the displays are themed. Some tell holiday stories. Other homes even have animatronics. If Disneyland<\/strong> isn\u2019t in the financial cards this year, this is free-ninety-nine<\/em> and gets the job done. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
