By no means am I a taco expert. However, I second the L.A. Times’ recommendation<\/a> of stopping by Tacos Lionydas east of the Traffic Circle for an al pastor taco or any one of their mouth-watering options (chorizo is a close second). The mix of sweet and spice you get on that first bite of freshly cooked al pastor just melts everything else away. It’s everything food, and especially tacos, should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several people I talked to in line said a stop at the stand near the corner of Clark Avenue and Atherton Street is part of their weekly schedule. Trust me, it is worth the detour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, if you haven’t heard, Long Beach’s oldest bar Joe Jost’s is turning 100 on Saturday. Scroll down to the last story in the newsletter to read about their vast history on Anaheim Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
