Poster courtesy of Tropicalia Music & Taco Festival<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n UPDATE |<\/strong> The music and taco festival set to take over Queen Mary Park in November announced Thursday that Caf\u00e9 Tacvba, Jhen\u00e9 Aiko, Ivy Queen, Bane’s World, Jorja Smith, Chrome Sparks and Summer Salt have been added to the lineup.<\/p>\n Caf\u00e9 Tacvba\u2019s eponymous debut album was released in Mexico in 1992 to critical acclaim. The Latin rock band, formed in Mexico in \u201889, is huge in Latin America, has played major U.S. festivals and recently performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall<\/a> in association with Pacific Standard Time: LA\/LA.<\/p>\n PREVIOUSLY: Chicano Batman, Los Tigres Del Norte to Headline Tropicalia Festival at Queen Mary<\/strong><\/p>\n 8\/21\/17 at 5:30PM |<\/strong>\u00a0Chicano Batman<\/a>, Los Tigres Del Norte<\/a> and Kali Uchis<\/a> will headline during the Observatory\u2019s Tropic\u00e1lia Music & Taco Festival at the Queen Mary on Saturday, November 11, it was announced today.<\/p>\n Early bird tickets for the all-ages event will go on sale at 10:00AM this Friday with $75 for general admission and $150 for VIP passes.<\/p>\n Tropicalia, a cultural revolution that took place in Brazil starting in the 1960s, was a response to military dictatorship and a counter cultural statement. Ending in 1972, most associate the radical movement exclusively with the music, a combination of \u201cbossa nova, Euro-American pop and traditional Brazilian material, woven around anti-establishment lyrics,\u201d according to the New York Times<\/em>, which in 2006 reviewed<\/a> the Bronx Museum of the Arts\u2019 exhibit \u201cTropic\u00e1lia: A Revolution in Brazilian Culture.\u201d<\/p>\n Also included in the lineup for the all-ages event is King Krule<\/a>, the young English singer, songwriter, producer and musician whose vibey music is difficult to pin down, but has been described as punk jazz, hip hop and darkwave; La Sonora Dinamita<\/a>, a Colombian group founded in the 1960s and one of the first cumbia groups to gain international popularity; and Sango<\/a>, a Seattle native and producer well known for his hip hop, soul-influenced, R&B remixes and beats.<\/p>\n Confirmed, party of the year @ObservatoryOC<\/a> #Tropicalia<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/UhBmLUEYGt<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Jay-Quelin’ (@Zeusproduces) August 17, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n \n
