When Francisco Reyes, Jr. was in college his Plan A was to make it as a musician.<\/p>\n

His Plan B was to be a graphic artist.<\/p>\n

But then he landed a dream job, an internship with Shepard Fairey, the icon of the iconography world.<\/p>\n

Even if you\u2019ve never heard of Shepard Fairey, you\u2019re familiar with his work. He\u2019s the guy behind the ubiquitous \u201cObey\u201d logo and the \u201cHOPE\u201d poster that helped Barack Obama get elected to the highest office in the land.<\/p>\n

Reyes has now been working with Fairey for seven years.<\/p>\n

On Friday night, Reyes (better known by his art moniker Never Made) announced his collaboration with streetwear brand The Hundreds. The venture will be called \u201cThe Hundreds X Never Made.\u201d<\/p>\n

More than 100 graphic arts and music fans showed up for the announcement and concert at the Ice House on Anaheim Street, which has quickly become one of Long Beach\u2019s premier art spaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomehow the stars aligned and now I\u2019m doing my dream job \u2013 my dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not that his reveries always make sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes when I\u2019m sleeping an idea will come to me. I\u2019ll wake up and text it to myself,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0the Long Beach-based artist said. \u201cThen I\u2019ll go back and look at it later and wonder \u2018What the hell inspired THAT idea?’\u201d<\/p>\n
