Exterminators later said the <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/news\/liquid-lounge-cited-for-alcohol-contaminated-with-insects\/\">tiny insects<\/a> were attempting to infest the entire establishment.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"width:100%; float:left;\" \/>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; float: left;\">\n<div style=\"width: 100px; height: 100px; background-image: url('images\/stockintros\/541259_367200840024632_611338525_a.png'); background-size: cover; background-position: center center; float: left; margin-right: 30px; display:none;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<p> <small style=\"font-weight: lighter;\">RELATED<\/small> <\/p>\n<h2 ><a onclick=\"ga('send', 'event', 'Related Link', 'click', 'Realted Link v1');\" href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/news\/liquid-lounge-cited-for-alcohol-contaminated-with-insects\/\">Liquid Lounge Cited for Alcohol Contaminated with Insects<\/a><\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; height: 0;\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<hr style=\"width:100%; float:left;\" \/>\n<p>\u201cYour building is coming down in front of us,\u201d Taffer practically shouts, as the owner, Rob McCarthy and his employees stand and watch, seemingly dumbfounded.<\/p>\n<p>Following the ant extermination, a stress test (where Taffer brings in a typical Friday night crowd to find out what the employees can handle), a training at Alex\u2019s Bar courtesy of mixologist Rob Floyd (as the Liquid Lounge is being remodeled) and a few dramatic attempts to get McCarthy to actually care (it\u2019s tough to be in debt), the Liquid Lounge is given the TLC it has desperately needed for the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>New cocktails are brought in to replace the lounge\u2019s haphazardly thrown together drinks, such as the Long Beach Tea, with lemon juice, sweet tea and Jack Daniels Old Number 7, garnished with an orange wedge, and The Weekender, with lemon juice, orgeat syrup, and Jack Daniels garnished with a lemon peel.<\/p>\n<p>Panko-crusted shrimp poppers replace the shrimp skewers Taffer\u2019s daughter attempts to try pre-Bar Rescue, where a dirty kitchen and distracted chef throw McCarthy\u2019s operation into serious question.<\/p>\n<p> <center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fjontaffer%2Fvideos%2F1440246482690307%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=400\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\"><\/iframe><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a heartwarming end to the makeover, as the Liquid Lounge family sees Taffer\u2019s vision for a beach-themed and classier watering hole replace what was proclaimed as a run down, bug infested eyesore, with three months to go before closing.<\/p>\n<p>However, Long Beach locals certainly cherish their dive bars, and it\u2019s yet to be seen whether this change in brand will both please the lounge\u2019s original patrons and attract new regulars, or end up back the way it was, accruing debt.<\/p>\n<p>Bar Rescue\u2019s makeover team transformed the Liquid Lounge in February, so let\u2019s give it a good year for Long Beach to get used to the new look.<\/p>\n<p> <center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FBarRescue%2Fvideos%2F1440908569290765%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\"><\/iframe><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>For more information about Tidal Bay Beach Bar, visit the Facebook page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/liquidloungebarlbc\/\">here<\/a>.
