But here are ways for you to not only celebrate the day itself but extend it into next week.<\/p>\n<h5>Coconut margarita at Lola&#8217;s [pictured above]<\/h5>\n<p><strong><em>2030 E. Fourth St., Fourth Street Corridor\u00a0<\/em>|<em>\u00a04140 Atlantic Ave., Bixby Knolls<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This magical concoction\u2014first served to me before it ever became anything official with its bar offerings\u2014is a part of Lola&#8217;s expanded menu.<\/p>\n<p>Known as &#8220;I&#8217;m in Love with the Coco,&#8221; this wonderfully boozy take on a margarita\u2014they aren&#8217;t light on their pour of tequila to cut through their house-made coconut cream\u2014is dangerously sippable and very dessert-like. Photo by Mona Shadia.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h5>Classic margarita at Fuego<\/h5>\n<p><em><strong>700 Queensway Drive, Queen Mary Complex<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fuego at Hotel Maya\u2014a space that I have called <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/longbeachize\/outnabout\/ways-escape-long-beach-without-leaving-long-beach\/\">one of the places to escape the city without leaving the city<\/a>\u2014has unparalleled views of Downtown Long Beach from its north-facing shore. It&#8217;s a point worth selling, especially when sipping on cocktails.<\/p>\n<p>House margaritas are seven bucks during happy hour\u2014and don\u2019t think these margaritas are light pours. Much like Los Compadres, they\u2019re heavy on the tequila and balanced out with house made sweet\u2019n\u2019sour that can hang with some of the best in the city.<\/p>\n<p>On top of this, you can meander their mini-beaches (fire pits included) or walk along the shore sidewalk all the way to the Queen Mary. Photo by Brian Addison.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h5>Pepino margarita at Padre<\/h5>\n<p><em><strong>525 E Broadway, Downtown<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>For all its ups and downs, Padre\u2014and especially its upstairs spaces Mezcalero and Whatever Lola Wants, each of which I have <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/food\/one-of-the-best-selections-of-mezcal-in-southern-california-is-coming-to-long-beach\">sung their praises<\/a> in terms of <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/food\/addison-padre-mezcalero-whatever-lola-wants-dtlb\">both cocktails and vibes<\/a>\u2014has been spectacularly consistent in their margarita offerings.<\/p>\n<p>And still on the menu since day one has been their cucumber-centric Pepino Margarita. Anaheim St., Zaferia<\/em> | <em>1144 Pine Ave., Downtown<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This adults-only take on the famed Mexican mango drink known as a chamango (also known as mangonada) is certainly worth the order. Arguable. Is Stache one-thousand-percent Long Beach? Yes.<\/p>\n<p>For one, it is a hole-in-the-wall that, to this day, offers a stellar whiskey selection after opening almost a decade ago. And just recently, its offering of grub gives us some of the best bar food in the city.
