Expressionary Events posted a Facebook video Saturday that generated not only congratulatory comments, but many an \u201cel oh el,\u201d as Hotel Maya\u2019s stray feline friend, \u201cEl Gato,\u201d decided it appropriate to crash a heartwarming proposal.<\/p>\n

Trevor Williams<\/a>, a model and a West Hollywood firefighter, apparently had set up a \u201cphotoshoot\u201d which, to now-fiance Yasmina Colony<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0surprise, became much more than just a typical day in front of the camera.<\/p>\n

What one commenter described as a \u201ccat bomb,\u201d an orange tabby meowed his way on set just as Williams took a knee, while the couple remained impressively composed throughout El Gato\u2019s impurrrfect pop-in.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t have an official name so, due to our Latin American theme at the hotel, we refer to him as El Gato,\u201d said Sheila Malekzadeh, director of sales and marketing at Hotel Maya, a DoubleTree by Hilton. \u201cSome guests also call him Naranja for orange.\u201d<\/p>\n

Naranja, or El Gato, has been at Hotel Maya for about two years now, said Malekzadeh. Hotel staff have looked for the cat\u2019s owner since it was discovered on the property, yet haven\u2019t been able to find anyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe beautiful orange cat has adopted Hotel Maya as its home,\u201d said Malekzadeh. \u201cHe often approaches guests and staff throughout the property in a very friendly and loving way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perhaps the tabby\u2019s craving for the limelight was finally fulfilled, having smelled the Instagram stardom emanating from the happy couple.<\/p>\n

The stray cat often prowls Hotel Maya\u2019s outdoor grounds, oftentimes to say hello to guests spending time near the waterfront, even recently visiting the Post<\/em>\u2019s 40 Under 40 event, greeting attendees and rolling around in the planters for attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really enjoy having El Gato around,\u201d said Malekzadeh, mentioning that Hotel Maya is one of the city\u2019s only pet-friendly hotels. \u201cHe\u2019s beautiful and often a topic of conversation with our guests.\u201d<\/p>\n
