Both exhibitions will run through Sunday, March 19, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-51673\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/christinenguyen.jpg\" alt=\"christinenguyen\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Detail of Christine Nguyen\u2019s work in\u00a0<\/em>Abundant, Bountiful and Beautiful<em>\u00a0courtesy of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LongBeachMuseumofArt\/?fref=ts\">LBMA<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Abundant, Bountiful and Beautiful<\/em> exemplifies the museum\u2019s tradition of showcasing Californian art and artists. The eclectic variety of media are recent acquisitions to the LBMA\u2019s collection that express the vibrant energy of the region. Over 100 works on paper, ceramics, sculpture, paintings and artist books by modern and contemporary artists including Ron Davis, Matt Wedel, Christine Nguyen, Tom Knechtel, Ellsworth Kelly, William Wiley and many more are now on display.<\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-51674\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/belize1.jpg\" alt=\"belize1\" width=\"640\" height=\"346\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Chase Langford, <\/em>Belize<em>, 2015, oil on canvas, 38 x 70 inches, gift of the artist.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe generosity of artists and collectors giving to the Museum provides the public with a portrait of the creative production that has made Southern California and the Long Beach Museum of Art an outstanding venue for the visual arts,\u201d said Ron Nelson, executive director of the LBMA in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-51671\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/paiva1.jpg\" alt=\"paiva1\" width=\"640\" height=\"793\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Tom Paiva,\u00a0<\/em>Conveyor System<em>, 2004, 40 x 30 inches, Gift of the Port of Long Beach, courtesy of the artist.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tom Paiva\u2019s and William Livingston\u2019s photographs of the Port of Long Beach in<em> Commerce in View<\/em>, capture the timelessness and haunting beauty of modern industrial sites and celebrate \u201ctheir gargantuan forms with a startling poetic urgency,\u201d stated the exhibit announcement. Livingston\u2019s large-scale views of the port, captured with a pinhole camera and Paiva\u2019s perspective captured with a large-format view camera speak to the port\u2019s relevance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-51675\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/bmojo.jpg\" alt=\"bmojo\" width=\"640\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Screenshot taken from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/brittanymojo\/\">@brittanymojo<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Last, but not least, multimedia artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brittanymojo.com\/\">Brittany Mojo<\/a> has been steadily transforming the museum\u2019s basement, also known as the Ralston Family Learning Center, into an installation interpreting her Long Beach experience.
