Snoop riveted fans with an enthusiastic hour and a half-long performance that had him shimmying, teaming up with hip hop all-stars, and more. Moving onstage after 2Chainz entertained, with \u201cF**kin\u2019 Problems\u201d stoking the flames of the arena\u2019s night of entertainment. What\u2019s more, it was his first large-scale performance in his home city since approximately 1986.<\/a><\/p>\n

Were you hoping for a little \u201cGin and Juice\u201d? \u201cStill Dre\u201d? Maybe some \u201cP-I-M-P\u201d? Luckily, Snoop brought beat after beat of his top hits and more, opening up with \u201cWho Am I\u201d in a white track suit and swerving his hips before calling on everyone to raise their hands. Plus a few jams in homage to those Compton boys\u2014namely, a tribute to Easy-E and the Notorious B.I.G. All we can say is Snoop\u2019s set list = FIRE.<\/p>\n

When Snoop Exchanged Notes and Rhymes with OT Genasis<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do people forget that OT Genasis, that rapper \u201cin love with the \u2018CoCo,\u2019\u201d is from Long Beach? We do sometimes. But Snoop Dogg\u2019s here to remind us that Genasis is indeed a Long Beacher\u2014and one with a strong stage persona at that. While he didn\u2019t provide a rendition of \u201cCoco,\u201d his \u201cPush It\u201d featured heavily for the brief time he was onstage, and he assisted Snoop with an energetic swagger.<\/p>\n

When Snoop Swerved and Shimmied<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snoop had all the feels. He rocked. He rhymed. He swerved. He jived.<\/p>\n

Well, maybe he didn\u2019t jive. But he definitely grooved to his hits with the occasional goofy shimmy and self-satisfaction that comes from his years as one of Long Beach\u2019s biggest legends. He was all smiles, and there\u2019s probably nothing better than seeing a performer utterly enjoying himself.<\/p>\n

When Snoop Called Pharrell Onstage<\/strong><\/p>\n

ComplexCon organizer Pharrell dashed onstage in the middle of Snoop\u2019s set, to perform \u201cDrop it Like It\u2019s Hot\u201d and \u201cBeautiful,\u201d to the immediate approval of the packed arena. Fans screamed and held their hands up on command. The two of them together\u2014onstage\u2014was an occurrence of late and a sight for sore eyes. It brought us back to 2003.<\/p>\n

When Snoop Made a Touching Tribute to the LBC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snoop closed out the night with some touching words for all of those in Long Beach. \u201cDon\u2019t ever let anyone tell you you can\u2019t do something,\u201d he said, citing his accomplishments as proof that anyone can achieve their dreams, no matter where they\u2019re from.<\/p>\n

He professed his love for Long Beach in serious, elegant tones. Then a slow beat picked up, and he asked the audience to sing along.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is why I want us to sing this,\u201d he said. \u201c…. so what we get drunk\u2026 so what we smoke weed..,\u201d leading the arena through a rendition of \u201cYoung, Wild and Free.\u201d<\/p>\n
