Now through July 24, the Aquarium of the Pacific has opened its outdoor exhibits\u2014its indoor exhibits are temporarily closed\u2014to the public for a discounted admission fee of $12, with safety protocols strictly enforced and advanced reservations required.<\/p>\n

Walk through the Lorikeet Forest aviary and feed the birds, check out the archerfish in an exhibit on the Harbor Terrace (they shoot water out of their mouths!), and learn how you can help conserve fresh water in the Our Water Future<\/em> exhibit. There’s also the touch tanks, where guests can get a feel for tropical species of sharks and rays.<\/p>\n

You can also learn about how the aquariums cares for its animals, hang out with shovelnose guitarfish (what?) and head up to the upper floor, home to the Seals and Sea Lions Habitat and June Keyes Penguin Habitat, where you can visit, yes, penguins, sea lions and seals.<\/p>\n

Visitors older than the age of two are required to wear a mask and everyone should expect to have their temperature checked. There will also be numerous hand sanitizing stations. The number of visitors will be limited, with aquarium staff managing traffic flow to maintain social distancing, as well as constantly sanitizing surfaces.<\/p>\n

General admission is $12 and free to children under three. Advanced reservations are required for everyone and can be made by calling 562-590-3100 or visiting aquariumofpacific.org<\/a>.
