Long Beach has long lamented that, despite its rich history within hip hop culture, it had yet to see a hip hop festival reflecting that rich history\u2014until Summertime in the LBC came to the Queen Mary in 2017<\/a>. A year later, it brought Snoop Dogg<\/a> back to his hometown stage and, well, they plan to do it again this year.<\/p>\n

It returns under a new name, “Once Upon a Time in the LBC” with\u00a0 Snoop headlining on Saturday, July 27. Joining Snoop will be YG, The Game, DMX, Bone Thugs, and another local son, Warren G.<\/p>\n

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, March 15. Pre-sale tickets start at $100, with payment options available; after that, tickets range from $125 to $250, depending on which package you purchase.<\/p>\n

The effect of concert promoter and producer Goldenvoice, the company behind massive festivals like Coachella and Desert Trip, inking its deal with the Queen Mary in 2017<\/a> to bring large-scale music festivals and concerts cannot be denied.\u00a0 A subsidiary of AEG, Goldenvoice has turned the grounds of the Mary into the city’s leading music venue: Tropicalia proved to be one of the year’s hottest tickets<\/a> (even sans Cardi B, SZA stole the show) while the announcement of the much-anticipated Just Like Heaven festival<\/a> led to a sell-out in less than a week, prompting the promoters to add an additional show.<\/p>\n
