Nearly 160 apartments, including six penthouses and sweeping views of the city make The Edison, a mid-Century modern landmark of Long Beach, a place of residence to be desired.<\/p>\n

The Edison luxury flats are now open and accepting applications for September occupancy, offering newly designed interiors and exclusive amenities, according to the announcement released Friday.<\/p>\n

Developed by Waterton and the Kor Group, refurbished materials from the 1959 structure that stood as Long Beach\u2019s first all-electric office building, pay homage to the original architecture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Edison stands apart from all other communities in Southern California by combining the brilliance and sophistication of the original building with modern amenities,\u201d said Mark Zettl, Chief Operating Officer of Waterton, in a statement. \u201cThis has been a compelling project for us to work on and we\u2019re looking forward to bringing Waterton\u2019s Resitality, our unmatched residential and hospitality commitment that offers a customer service experience that exceeds the resident expectations, at the Edison.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amenities include a fitness center, game room, conference room, an open-air rooftop with pool, an indoor and outdoor lounge, and community kitchen and grill station surrounded by 360-degree ocean and city views. Additional benefits include a pet-washing station, reserved parking, WiFi throughout the property and professional on-site management, according to the release.<\/p>\n

Designed by Kelly Wearstler Interior Design, the apartment interiors reflect a classic mid-century aesthetic. Features include quartz countertops, polished concrete floors and floor-to-ceiling windows. All apartments include an in-unit washer\/dryer set.<\/p>\n

\u201cWaterton will manage the Edison and introduce Long Beach to Resitality, Waterton\u2019s guiding principles and passion for exceeding customer expectations and providing residents with an unmatched living experience,\u201d stated the release.<\/p>\n

The Edison is located nearby the Metro Blue Line in Downtown Long Beach, the East Village Arts District and the beach. Tours of the building are now being scheduled and leases are being offered to interested residents.<\/p>\n
