Last Friday, one day after the sudden passing of music superstar Prince, the Art Theatre on 4th Street in Long Beach hosted an 11:00PM screening of Purple Rain<\/em>,<\/a>\u00a0the 1984 film that helped vault the Minneapolis music wizard to legend status.<\/p>\n

“Cheering at the club\/live scenes, quiet singing along, some sporadic dancing, some emotional outbursts, some tears, and lots of people up dancing and singing for [the song] ‘Purple Rain.’ It was a great coming-together celebration,” said Fingerprints Music owner Rand Foster, who was part of the crowd at the Art Theatre Friday night.<\/p>\n
