Anthropologie, the high-end retail store, will open its first Long Beach location at the 2nd & PCH shopping complex in Alamitos Bay.<\/p>\n
The brand, owned by the parent company behind shops like Urban Outfitters and Free People\u2014both of which also opened storefronts at 2nd & PCH\u2014will be joining two other nearby locations, one in Torrance and another in Costa Mesa.<\/p>\n
Additionally, 2nd & PCH will be joining hundreds of other businesses and restaurants in participating in Long Beach’s Open Streets Initiative by closing Seaport Way on its south-facing side to cars in order to become a pedestrian-friendly shopping zone that will have alternative retail popups along with social distancing spaces.<\/p>\n
“In addition to the new tenants, 2nd & PCH will close Seaport Way to vehicular traffic for the fall and winter seasons,” said Rocky Cunningham on behalf of the complex in an email. “Seaport Way will be outfitted with additional turf, carpets, seating, festoon lighting and much more to create the ultimate promenade experience. You will also discover pop-ups such [from various brands] that will interchange throughout the season on a temporary basis.”<\/p>\n
An example of the popups included a mention of OluKai, the Hawaii-based footwear company known for its popular sandals.<\/p>\n
