Posting subject to approval.<\/p>\n<h1>Virtually Pets<\/h1>\n<p>Cats in their own private condos have a beautiful view of all the goodies displayed in the Cat Adoption Center at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/petfoodexpress.com\/stores\/detail\/long-beach\/\">Bixby Knolls Pet Food Express\u00a0<\/a>located at 4220 Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach. And they can see you, too! And if you\u2019re looking for a sweet cat to share your home, you can see them and have some limited interaction as well.<\/p>\n<p>The Cat Adoption Center provides a satellite adoption area for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/acs\">City of Long Beach Animal Care Services<\/a>.\u00a0The area is maintained by a strong volunteer group headed by members of the Long Beach branch of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.straycatalliance.org\/\">Stray Cat Alliance<\/a>\u00a0(see <strong>Ongoing <\/strong>for volunteer information). It\u2019s been a great success so far\u2014as of Pet Food Express\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/life\/pets\/pet-projects-biggest-adoption-event-ever\/\">grand opening on March 12<\/a>, every cat has been adopted. And there are more, of course\u2014there are always more. Releasing birds of prey is rewarding and educational!<\/p>\n<p>Some of the birds\u00a0were captured at local airports and need long rides\u2014150 miles plus\u2014to lessen the chances of them returning to the airports and causing more trouble. There are also injured and orphaned birds that need to be returned to their natural environment; these are specific locations.<\/p>\n<p>Rides are almost always needed, so if you\u2019re planning a road trip of at least 150 miles and would enjoy a feathered passenger for part of the way, drop us an email and let us know where and when you\u2019re going.
