And while everyone loves soft serve ice cream, it was the taiyaki that caught everyone&#8217;s attention since the sometimes hollow, sometimes stuffed pastry is shaped like a fish. Well, not a fish. A sea bream, that freshwater and marine animal belonging to a variety of genera including <em>Abramis<\/em>, that all the kids are just crazy about.<\/p>\n<p>Made with waffle or pancake batter, taiyaki is as eye-catching as it is delicious, whether its interior is painted with the likes of Nutella, red paste or some other choice, or stuffed with items such as\u00a0 cheese, Oreos, etc.<\/p>\n<p>We know all this because we have access to the internet (&#8220;tai&#8221; means sea bream) and because we went to SomiSomi the other day when it was, no exaggeration, a billion degrees. The thought of soft serve and pastry seemed a solid one and, it was, just check out the video above to see a bit of what we experienced.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a word to the wise. If you&#8217;re going to order some ice cream and taiyaki, make sure you&#8217;ve got the room. This is not really the airy, soft serve you&#8217;ve become accustomed to procuring at the better gas station convenience stores. No, this is a dense, flavor-rich concoction that, when combined with a pastry made from waffle or pancake batter, is doughy, delicious and, it turns out, invulnerable, melt-wise, to billion degree weather.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/addison-somisomi-bixby-knolls<\/p>\n<p>The food is delicious and cute and, as word gets around, this place, located at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Roosevelt Road, seems destined to become a date destination and evening capper.
