File photo<\/em><\/p>\n The Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach operate after school and summer programs at 14 locations throughout the city, serving more than 5,400 kids.<\/p>\n \u201c80 percent of the kids live below the poverty line and 62 percent come from single-parent households,\u201d said David Walker, director of development for the clubs, in a statement. \u201cAnd, by the time the kids get to The Clubs after school, many of them are still hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n “Let\u2019s follow up on a good thing,” said Newton Chiropractic’s Dr. Paul Newton, inspired by Chef Bruno Serato\u2019s nonprofit organization, Caterina\u2019s Club. Caterina’s Club began feeding hungry children in Long Beach in September<\/a>. “We\u2019ll get everyone involved. We\u2019ll do our own Pasta and Pasta Sauce Food Drive and help to feed as many kids as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n Brad Garofalo\u2019s State Farm Agency and Savvy Escrow Works, Inc., are participating in The Pasta Drive, as well, and will serve as drop-off locations for visitors. Donations can be dropped off at all three locations until November 18 and, as an added bonus, Newton Chiropractic will give anyone who donates 10 or more items an adjustment or a half hour massage for free.<\/p>\n The Palo Center is located at the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and Stearns Street.
