Photos by Asia Morris.<\/em><\/p>\n LBMA After Dark will make a triumphant return on Friday, October 23 from 6:00PM to 10:00PM in celebration of the closing weekend of one of the most popular, and possibly profound, exhibitions in the museum\u2019s history: Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape<\/em>, which was extended past its original September closing date<\/a> to Sunday, October 25. <\/p>\n Nearly 12,000 visitors have walked through the colorifically transformed galleries of the forward-thinking seaside institution since the show opened on June 27.<\/p>\n Those who attend the culminating After Dark event will get to see the debut screening of a short film about the creation of the exhibition and witness firsthand the start of the removal process as all the murals in the exhibition fall to their intended ephemeral future.<\/p>\n Also on the docket, Fafi fans will be able to see her new mural now included in the show, view artist Greg \u201cCRAOLA\u201d Simkins \u201cwhitewash\u201d his own mural and meet LBMA\u2019s Artist in Residence Shay Bredimus who will be on-hand to answer any and all questions about his figurative paintings and tattoo art.<\/p>\n \u201cThis LBMA After Dark will mark the end of a special year for the Museum,\u201d said Ron Nelson, executive director of the Long Beach Museum of Art, in a statement. \u201cThe success of Vitality and Verve<\/em> has been beyond what the museum imagined it would be with increased attendance, global media coverage and a record number of new members joining in 2015. We thank everyone who has made this exhibition such a fantastic experience for us as well as the community we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n The event will have its signature great music, food and dancing under the stars.
