{"id":23127,"date":"2021-02-12T15:24:55","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T23:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/?p=30000018615"},"modified":"2021-02-12T15:32:56","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T23:32:56","slug":"check-out-the-new-year-of-the-ox-display-for-lunar-new-year-at-the-edison-theatre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/check-out-the-new-year-of-the-ox-display-for-lunar-new-year-at-the-edison-theatre","title":{"rendered":"Check out the new Year of the Ox display for Lunar New Year at the Edison Theatre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Downtown Long Beach communications agency Intertrend is back with another Lunar New Year display, this time taking over the Edison Theatre&#8217;s fa\u00e7ade with a special animation of &#8220;00X,&#8221; a charming secret agent take on the Chinese Ox zodiac sign.<\/p>\n<p>To bring the animation to life, Intertrend installed LED screens encompassing the theater&#8217;s tall arch windows where visitors can watch &#8220;00X&#8221; wish locals a Happy Lunar New Year. While we could explain to you what the animation looks like, we thought it better to show you.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Intertrend Celebrates Year of the OX\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hnWPPmrU6FY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;00X&#8221; was given dimension by 3D artist Oscar A. Campos and is modeled after secret agent 007, or James Bond, fitted with a smart tuxedo and all the dashing, suave energy the iconic spy-series hero is known for. Oh, and all the hair. We&#8217;re betting 00X&#8217;s do is modeled as a cross between the blond locks of Daniel Craigs&#8217;s Bond and the side swept style of Timothy Dalton.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When the creative team immediately burst out with laughter [about the 00X concept] we all knew we had a winner,&#8221; Intertrend&#8217;s creative director Rosanne Kang Jovanovski wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/intertrend\/happy-year-of-the-00x-2ef5c39ae4cb\">Medium article<\/a> about the display.<\/p>\n<p>As a nod to the culture of the annual celebration, Intertrend chose to use Chinese instruments in crafting the accompanying music. This was accomplished by composer Nathan Chan, Intertrend&#8217;s associate director of creative services, Aaron Yang and director of production, Joyce Lu.<\/p>\n<p data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Intertrend has celebrated the Lunar New Year with annual, often interactive displays since 2016, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/art\/year-of-the-monkey\">Year of the Monkey<\/a> that featured over 2,200 take-home red envelopes locals could peel off the windows of Intertrend&#8217;s headquarters, revealing a portrait of a monkey by world-acclaimed artist James Jean. Since then, Intertrend has celebrated the year of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/arts-culture\/year-of-the-rooster\/\">rooster<\/a> (2017) <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/longbeachize\/video-interactive-year-dog-art-installation-long-beach-nothing-short-awesome\">the dog<\/a> (2018), <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/art\/giant-interactive-slot-machine-in-downtown-celebrates-the-year-of-the-pig\">pig<\/a> (2019) the rat (2020) and now, the ox.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/follow-the-paw-prints-to-find-this-year-of-the-rat-installation-in-downtown-long-beach<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All of Intertrend&#8217;s preceding displays have been featured at the agency&#8217;s Downtown headquarters, also known as the historic <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/news\/building-with-colorful-history-gets-bright-future-2\/\">Psychic Temple of the Holy Kiss<\/a> building.
