Those looking to support children with autism and local dining can find the opportunity for both at Naples Rib Company Thursday, April 22.<\/p>\n
Dine at the barbecue restaurant and Naples Rib Company will donate 20% of the check profits to See Beneath, a San Diego-based nonprofit that creates early developmental and educational tools for children on the autism spectrum.<\/p>\n
The crowning achievement of the organization is its educational app, “Aiko & Egor,” which uses animation and research-supported skill games to improve communication, play, social and imitation skills targeting the developmental ages of 2 to 7 years old.<\/p>\n
See Beneath is hoping to raise $1,000 that will go toward developing the app’s newest video series, “Learning Emotions with Aiko & Egor.”<\/p>\n
The animated characters, Aiko and Egor, have been reformatted to a children’s puppet show that will help children better identify and express their emotions. The series was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, as a way to help children on the autism spectrum deal with the challenges of quarantine and other disturbances from daily life caused by the pandemic.<\/p>\n
