Both rescues are 501(c)(3) nonprofits.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few previews:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.westcoastanimalrescue.org\/\">West Coast Animal Rescue (WeCARe)\/Sparky and the Gang<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>E-mail: <a href=\"mailto:sparkyandthegang@yahoo.com\">sparkyandthegang@yahoo.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Allow two to three days for a response as the organization is all-volunteer run and they have day jobs.<\/p>\n<p>WeCARe is stationed in front of the Seal Beach PetSmart, 12341 Seal Beach Boulevard most Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00PM and the Long Beach Petco, 6500 Pacific Coast Highway. most Sundays from 11:00AM to 3:00PM and is present at many local pet- and adoption-related events. Please e-mail them in advance if there is a specific dog you are interested in.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-43337\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/LunaBell.jpg\" alt=\"LunaBell\" width=\"604\" height=\"316\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Miss Luna<\/strong> is a medium-size female border collie\/chow chow mix. She\u2019s 10 years old and has been spayed and vaccinated. Miss Luna\u2019s owners moved and left her and her son on the street, matted and dirty with hundreds of stickers stuck in her fur! You should have seen the \u201cbefore\u201d photo. But she\u2019s very gentle and sweet, and is looking for a loving home to call her own. She weighs about 38 pounds and loves to go for a walks. She deserves to spend her golden years with a nice family who appreciates what a special dog she truly is!<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-43366\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/LonChaneyJr2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"814\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lon Chaney Jr.<\/strong>\u2014really! This little Wolfman is actually a Norwich terrier\/Yorkie mix, has been neutered and has all his shots. He was rescued from the streets by his foster parents after two days of convincing him that they meant no harm. After sleeping under cars and eating whatever he could find, Lon was ready for something better! His foster parents brought him home, got all the motor oil out of his coat, and gave him some food. He was safe, and he knew it. He thanked them by offering his paw and rubbing his head on their laps. Lon\u2019s foster family consists of two humans, two dogs and four cats; and Lon gets along with all of them. He is starting to enjoy his walks more each day. He especially loves being petted and scratched behind the ears. He\u2019s come a long way in just a couple of weeks. He is the sweetest cat ever\u2014very cuddly and vocal and only asks to sit on your lap all day.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-43368\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Eva.JPG\" alt=\"Eva\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eva<\/strong> is a four-month-old calico diva. Her eyeliner eyes are just to die for! She was pulled by our rescue from Long Beach Animal Care Services (ACS) along with her siblings at two months and has had a long road to recovery. But now, she\u2019s a spunky girl with a very playful, loving personality and loves to torture her siblings. She definitely needs a play partner so she doesn\u2019t get lonely.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-43369\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/COCO.jpg\" alt=\"COCO\" width=\"640\" height=\"545\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Coco<\/strong> was also pulled from ACS along with her three siblings. Now a year old, Coco is a very sweet and playful cat, patiently waiting for someone to take her home after all her siblings have been adopted.<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"Copy-Headline\">Mark Your Calendars (the Human Way)<\/h1>\n<p><strong>SBACC\u2019s Wag n\u2019 Walk Calendar Fund-Raiser<br \/><\/strong><strong>Through September 1<br \/><\/strong><strong>Free to enter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbacc.org\">Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC)<\/a>&nbsp;is once again looking for 13 dogs and 13 cats to grace the pages of their 2016 SBACC Dog Calendar and SBACC Cat Calendar. And it\u2019s free to enter! Take a glamour-puss or dapper-doggy shot of your best friend (at least 2300 x 1800 pixels), click on this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.360photocontest.com\/311\">link<\/a>, and follow the instructions to enter your pet.
