This weekend is all about Mom, likely because she won’t let you forget, and so we’ve got brunch, some live music and a painting class to check out.<\/p>\n

Though chances are you’ve got your Cinco de Mayo plans squared away, we’ve included a couple of spots you may have overlooked just below\u2014lots of folkl\u00f3rico dancing! We also have a more extensive list, here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION\u2014CATALINA ISLAND (Wednesday)<\/h3>\n

The open-air plaza of the Catalina Island Museum will be buzzing with dancing and music for Cinco de Mayo, courtesy of the Queztal folkl\u00f3rico dancers and the Sin Frontera band. The band will perform throughout the evening while the dancers are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Coyote Joe’s taco bar will be on site along with beer, wine and cocktails for purchase. Children will have arts and crafts opportunities, including a build-your-own pinata activity.<\/p>\n
