SBACC\u2019s Wag n\u2019 Walk Calendar Fund-Raiser<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seal Beach Animal Care Center (SBACC<\/a>) is once again looking for 13 dogs and 13 cats to grace the pages of their 2016 SBACC Dog Calendar and SBACC Cat Calendar. And it\u2019s free to enter! Take a glamour-puss or dapper-doggy shot of your best friend (at least 2300 x 1800 pixels), click on this link<\/a>, and follow the instructions to enter your pet. Then, cast a vote for your pet and encourage your friends and family to do so. Each vote will cost $1 (minimum of five), and all proceeds will go toward the care of the dogs and cats at SBACC. The winners will be announced September 1 via e-mail and Facebook. Calendars will be on sale at the 20th Annual Wag n Walk at the Seal Beach Pier.<\/p>\n

Oh\u2014and did we say that clothing\u2019s optional? Woo, puppy!<\/p>\n

SBACC is a non-profit, pro-humane animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all the animals that come into care. The staff of dedicated volunteers ensures that the animals are kept as comfortable as possible until they can be placed in new adoptive homes.<\/p>\n

If you or someone you know earns an annual salary of $30,000 or less, sign up for an appointment here<\/a>. You can also come on the date of the appointment as standby; there\u2019s no guarantee of a procedure, but you can make one for the next event or take a voucher for a local clinic. When you come, bring proof of income and Long Beach residency (these events are for Long Beach residents only.) Whether you come as standby or with an appointment, do not give your pet anything to eat or drink after 12:01AM. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers that are specifically pet carriers! No paper bags or suitcases, please! <\/strong>There are no walls in the park, and we want you to ensure your pet\u2019s safety! If you don\u2019t own a carrier, pet supply stores like Petco and PetSmart carry inexpensive cardboard ones; they run on the average of $8.<\/p>\n

I loves ya, corgi, and so do hundreds of other people. On Saturday, Rosie\u2019s Dog Beach will be swarming with these little low-riders! Corgi lovers will have the opportunity to kiss their favorite corgi-lebrity at the Kissing Booth, with proceeds going to Queen\u2019s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue; show off their best corgi-kini in the Corgi Costume Contest; shake what their mama gave them in the Best Momo (aka Corgi Butt) Contest; and prove how low they can really go in a Limbo Competition.<\/p>\n

New this year, Purina Beyond adds in some unique, interactive experiences to this one-of-a-kind event. Along with the competition, there will be a doggie farmer\u2019s market, samples of Purina\u2019s natural food and treats and a fun photo opportunity. The brand will also donate one pound of their natural dog food\u2014up to 500 pounds\u2014to Queen\u2019s Best Stumpy Dog Rescue for every tweet or Instagram posts that includes #CorgiBeachDay and tag @BeyondPetFood.<\/p>\n
