{"id":2611,"date":"2015-05-28T23:43:15","date_gmt":"2015-05-28T23:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lbpost.com\/articles\/life\/arts-culture\/long-beach-opera-announces-2016-season-lineup-3\/"},"modified":"2015-05-28T23:43:15","modified_gmt":"2015-05-28T23:43:15","slug":"long-beach-opera-announces-2016-season-lineup-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/art\/long-beach-opera-announces-2016-season-lineup-3","title":{"rendered":"Long Beach Opera to Stage Performances in Unusual Locations Throughout 2016 Season"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Long Beach Opera (LBO) announced its 2016 season today, including productions of&nbsp;<em>Candide<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Fallujah<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>La Voix Humaine<\/em>&nbsp;(The Human Voice), and&nbsp;<em>The News<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, a release issued today said the LBO\u2019s season would involve performances at unusual locations, such as the stagings of <em>Fallujah<\/em> at the Long Beach National Guard Armory and <em>La Voix<\/em> at the Underground at the Federal Bar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext year is 100 [percent] LBO, a season that is \u201cIN\u201d: Insidious\u2013Intriguing\u2013Intense\u2013 Inquisitive\u2013Infamous\u2013Insightful\u2013Indulging\u2013Inspiring,\u201d said LBO Artistic and General Director Andreas Mitisek in a statement. \u201cThese works make us see the world in a different light, and make us ask questions where we previously thought we knew all the answers. [&#8230;] As always with LBO \u2013 Expect the Unexpected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The complete lineup for the LBO\u2019s 2016 season is:<\/p>\n<p>January 23 and 30 | <em>Candide<\/em> (1974 version) | Center Theater, Long Beach<\/p>\n<p>March 12 to March 20 | <em>Fallujah<\/em> (World Premiere) | Long Beach National Guard Armory<\/p>\n<p>April 8 to April 17 | <em>La Voix Humane<\/em> | The Underground at the Federal Bar, Long Beach<\/p>\n<p>June 18 and June 26 | <em>The News<\/em> (West Coast Premiere) | TBA in Hollywood, Los Angeles<\/p>\n<p>May 30, June 6 and June 7 | <em>Hydrogen Jukebox<\/em> | Port of Los Angeles canning warehouse<\/p>\n<p><em>Tickets are on sale starting today.
