Well whaddya know, a list this weekend without music. Not that this list is lacking, though. Leading up to the first weekend of October we’ve found a breezy bike ride tour where you can check out all the POW! WOW! art installations in progress, an all-you-can-drink wine festival, a craft fair that’s all about the fall season, an art studio tour and more.<\/p>\n

And we’ve got pumpkins because October. Duh.<\/p>\n

POW! WOW! ARTIST LED MURAL TOURS (Thursday)<\/h3>\n

Ride around Long Beach with artist Nat Losbaker Thursday, Sept. 30 to see this year’s POW! WOW! mural<\/a> installations painted in real-time during the city-wide mural festival. The four-mile bike ride will hit nearly every mural in the city starting at Pedal Movement Junipero Beach Stand and end at El Barrio Cantina. <\/span><\/p>\n

The free event invites anyone with a bike, rollerskates or skateboards to join. Pedal Movement bike rentals can be reserved online, click here<\/a>. You can also get 10% off your rental by using the promo code: BIKEpowwow202.<\/span><\/p>\n

PUMPKIN MARKET – EL DORADO FRONTIER (Saturday)<\/h3>\n

The El Dorado Frontier’s fourth annual Pumpkin Market returns Saturday, Oct. 2 to the mini, gold-rush inspired theme park. Patrons can search for that perfect pumpkin to take home and enjoy many of the park’s special holiday activities such as a 12-minute narrated train ride that goes over the origins of the Jack O’ Lantern. There will also be a variety of photo opportunities, including one in front of a 16-foot reclaimed wood pumpkin.<\/p>\n

Children can participate in carnival games, the panning for treasure activity, a carousel ride and more.<\/p>\n

LA WINE FEST – HARRY BRIDGES MEMORIAL PARK (Saturday & Sunday)<\/h3>\n

The 15th annual LA Wine Fest will take over the spacious grassy slopes of Harry Bridges Memorial Park (near the Queen Mary) Saturday, Oct. 2 and Sunday Oct. 3 with all-you-can-drink wine and beer.<\/p>\n

Tickets get you unlimited pours of beer and wine from 29 wineries and seven breweries as well as bottled water, coffee and small, sample-sized bites. The festival will also feature food trucks, artisan shopping boutiques and live music. Click here<\/a> for a list of participating wineries and businesses.<\/p>\n

LONG BEACH OPEN STUDIO TOUR (Saturday & Sunday)<\/h3>\n

Check out the studios of the city’s many artists this weekend during the Long Beach Open Studio Tour, a free event meant to connect local artists with the community.<\/p>\n

The month-long event will feature over 50 artists and their spaces in different areas of Long Beach. This Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 2-3) guests can visit artists in Zaferia, Rose Park and the East Side.<\/p>\n

Organizers have created special maps guests can use to find participating studios. Click here<\/a> for the maps and for more information.<\/p>\n

Visitors must wear masks while indoors, per state mandate.<\/p>\n

AUTUMN CELEBRATION CRAFT FAIR (Sunday)<\/h3>\n

The weekly arts and crafts fair at the Marketplace on PCH and Second Street is ready for autumn this Sunday, Oct. 2 with vendors selling autumn-inspired wares from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

Patrons can find unique gifts, clothing, jewelry, home decor, crystals, artisan soaps, custom embroidery and more.<\/p>\n

The market is free to attend and can be found in the courtyard behind Trader Joe’s.<\/p>\n

“FREE DAY AT THE J” – ALPERT JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER (Sunday)<\/h3>\n

The Alpert Jewish Community Center is inviting the community to visit their center Sunday, Oct. 3 for a day of free swimming and exercise classes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n
