A fiendish festival \u2014 the inaugural Halloween Hootenanny \u2014 is bringing batty craft beer flights to Long Beach\u2019s iconic Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) for adults to enjoy on Halloween weekend.<\/p>\n
Local event producers and craft brewing industry veterans Festival Obscura and Craft Beer LB are partnering to host the slightly morbid festival and fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 30, featuring decadent bites paired with sips from 45+ independent craft breweries, cideries, cult wineries, and kombucha makers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a love and admiration for all things macabre \u2014 plus who doesn\u2019t love good food and good drinks \u2014 so we are bringing those things together this October for a great cause in raising money for MOLAA,\u201d organizers Martin Svab and his wife Ryan Hughes Svab said. \u201cWe hope you come join us for a frightfully fun afternoon together at MOLAA.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Svabs, who co-founded the special event company Obscura LB, are local business owners who operate The 4th Horseman, a craft beer and wine bar with an \u201capocalyptic\u201d pizza kitchen. The 4th Horseman also has a gallery space in the back called The Dark Art Emporium, which is a curated selection of fine art and oddities from surrealist paintings to taxidermy.<\/p>\n
The couple partnered with their friend and fellow Obscura LB co-founder Dennis Trilles, Craft Beer LB event producer and beer advocate, to organize the Halloween Hootenanny, which he promises will be full of \u201csinister surprises.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bloody delightful drinks at the event will include samples from: Ambitious Ales, Beachwood Brewing Co., Beachwood Blendery, Boochcraft, Brouwerij West, Burnin Daylight, Calicraft, CANArchy, Cellador Ales, Chapman Brewing, Chimay, Congregation Ales, Dutch\u2019s Brewhouse, Eagle Rock Brewery, Einstok, Eureka!, Ficklewood Cider, Firestone Walker, HofBrau, Hop Saint, Indie Brewing, Kyla Kombucha, Liberation Brewing Co., Long Beach Beer Lab, Paperback, Pizza Port, Offshoot, Opaque Rabble Wine Co., Radiant Brewing, RIIP Beer Co, Smog City Brewing Co, Sierra Nevada, Strange Beast, Syncopated, Ten Mile Brewing Co., The Bruery, Three Weavers Brewing Co., Topa Topa, Trademark Brewing, Unity Vibrations, and Vampire Family Wines.<\/p>\n
Bites will include: Cafablanca, Co.hrted, Death by Chocolate Confectioners, Hamburgers Nice, Harley Kat Designs, Shady Grove, and Southern Eatz.<\/p>\n
Beyond boos and bites, the organizers have planned other adult tricks and treats, including a macabre merchant marketplace featuring over a dozen local retail vendors, artists, and authors, plus entertainment including DJ Katon, DJ Paul E. Wog, DJ Buttercutts, live music, and a vintage horror film trailer showcase.<\/p>\n

The Halloween Hootenanny, taking place from noon to 5 p.m. is a 21+ or older event, and all guests will receive a complimentary commemorative souvenir-tasting glass with unlimited taster pours.<\/p>\n
In accordance with current COVID-19 rules and regulations, attendance will be limited to guests who can show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative test result from within 72-hours of the event.<\/p>\n
General admission tickets start at $45, with early admission VIP access available for $65. Designated driver tickets for $20 also are available. Costumes are encouraged.<\/p>\n
