The last performance of this season\u2019s Wit and Wisdom series at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center will feature a truly unforgettable show of Nobel laureate Harold Pinter\u2019s life and work. On Saturday, March 28, british actor Julian Sands will perform \u201cA Celebration of Harold Pinter,\u201d at 8:00PM.<\/p>\n

According to the announcement, three years before Pinter\u2019s death, the poet had been preparing to deliver his poetry in London when an illness abruptly halted his path forward. He relied on Sands to perform his poems and tirelessly worked with the actor to ensure every inflection, every tonation of the British dramatist\u2019s work was delivered just as he had imagined. Sands developed \u201cA Celebration of Harold Pinter\u201d from his time spent working with the literary craftsman.<\/p>\n

Sands accomplishments include the films \u201cA Room with a View\u201d and \u201cThe Killing Fields,\u201d while he recently appeared in the TV series, \u201cGotham.\u201d He will be the sole act in this 2013 Drama Desk Award-nominated showcase of Pinter\u2019s repertoire of poetry.<\/p>\n
