The sounds of Bj\u00f6rk and classic 1980s pop and rock will fill the streets of Downtown Long Beach this Thursday at the Downtown Long Beach Associates’ (DLBA) Live After Five event, featuring tribute bands in a range of genres.<\/p>\n
“With roots in both tradition and talent, cover and tribute bands make up an art form that is all too often dismissed as kitsch,” said DLBA spokesman Brian Addison in a statement. “While camp can indeed be an aspect of the nostalgic tribute band\u2014after all, imitation would not be fun without the crack of a smile\u2014there is a talent behind seamlessly recreating the music, feel, and overall aura of a time bygone.”<\/p>\n
