STROLLERS: HOLIDAY LIGHTS NIGHT EDITION – BIXBY KNOLLS (Wednesday)<\/h3>\n

Take a stroll through some of the best holiday light displays in Bixby Knolls and Cal Heights, Wednesday, Dec. 22 as part of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Associations holiday events.<\/p>\n

The near four-mile tour will start and end at the\u00a0 Expo Arts Center (4321 Atlantic Ave.) Walkers will be greeted with hot chocolate and snacks upon arrival. Guests are encouraged to wear warm layers, and bring a flashlight if you’ve got one. The walk begins at 7:15 p.m.<\/p>\n

GIANT GINGERBREAD VILLAGE DISPLAY \u2013 MODICA\u2019S DELI (Wednesday – Sunday)<\/h3>\n

Every year since 2013 master gingerbread maker Issac Salgado has spent over 300 hours crafting an enormous gingerbread village to display in a Downtown business.<\/p>\n

This year, Modica\u2019s Deli has been granted its holiday home, and visitors may come see the culinary architecture, comprised of over 350 pounds of powdered sugar, flour, hard candy and chocolate, every day until Dec. 31<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Consequent viewing hours will coincide with the deli\u2019s business hours, generally between noon and 9 p.m. Click here<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n

PHOTOS WITH SANTA – PIKE OUTLETS (Friday)<\/h3>\n

Still haven’t gotten your annual photos with Santa? Well, you still can this Friday, Dec. 24 at the Pike Outlets.<\/p>\n

From noon to 4 p.m. head on over to the Downtown shopping center for photos with the big guy himself. He’ll be stationed in the Main Plaza.<\/p>\n

LGBTQ HOLIDAY MEALS GIVEAWAY – THE CENTER LONG BEACH (Friday)<\/h3>\n

The Center Long Beach, a LGBTQ outreach organization, is hosting a free holiday meal giveaway to people in the LGBTQ community Friday, Dec. 24.<\/p>\n

The event was designed to help support LGBTQ people during the holidays as they are more likely than their non-LGBTQ counterparts to experience stress, anxiety, and depression during the holiday season according to the National Alliance of Mental Illness.<\/p>\n

The Center will be passing out free “grab-n-go” Christmas meals out front of its offices from noon to 4 p.m. while supplies last. The meals will also include a special gift.<\/p>\n

The Center Long Beach is at 2017 E. Fourth St.<\/em><\/p>\n

HOLIDAY MOVIES WATCH PARTY – TRADEMARK BREWING (Saturday)<\/h3>\n

Trademark Brewing will be screening five holiday movies all day long on Christmas Day outside on their patio. The screenings will start with the movie “Elf,” followed by “Home Alone,” “Trading Places,” “Christmas Vacation” and “Die Hard.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Guests are also encouraged to bring board games, puzzles or other activities while they sip a pint and watch.<\/p>\n

CHRISTMAS ROLLER SKATE PAJAMA JAM – JUNIPERO BEACH (Sunday)<\/h3>\n

Spend your post-Christmas morning skating by the beach with Pedal Movement<\/a>, Sunday Dec. 26. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their best holiday pajamas while you skate around the Junipero Beach basketball courts.<\/p>\n

This free morning rollerskating session starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m. The event is open to any age and skills levels. Pajamas are not required to join in on the fun.<\/p>\n

Marine Biologist and Cal State Long Beach Shark Lab Director Dr. Christopher G. Lowe presents \u201cLiving with White Sharks \u2014 The Great California Conservation Success Story,\u201d an educational program focused on the white shark population\u2019s recovery off California\u2019s coast and how concerns about public safety create unique conservation challenges.<\/p>\n

As part of the First Wednesdays series at the Aquarium of the Pacific, Dr. Lowe will share how Cal State Long Beach\u2019s Shark Lab has employed novel technologies to track where white sharks swim and the potential risks they pose to people.<\/p>\n
