{"id":28435,"date":"2022-01-23T13:14:21","date_gmt":"2022-01-23T21:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/?p=30000024596"},"modified":"2023-03-20T00:01:58","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T07:01:58","slug":"long-beach-black-restaurant-week-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/esd\/hi-lo\/food\/long-beach-black-restaurant-week-2022","title":{"rendered":"Here are 13 eateries to try during Long Beach&#8217;s first Black restaurant week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the first-ever Long Beach Black Restaurant Week, about a dozen Black-owned restaurants throughout the city are offering various deals and promotions\u2014so it\u2019s time to get a taste of this Black food scene.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by Long Beach Food &amp; Beverage, the inaugural Long Beach Black Restaurant Week is an eight-day event devoted to celebrating diverse African, African American and Caribbean eateries in and around Long Beach between Sunday, Jan. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 30.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Jan. 25, five Black eateries (flagged below) will be featured at a pop-up for the event at Trademark Brewing, 233 E. Bradley is only taking pickup orders near Fifth Street and Chestnut, and the exact address will be sent to customers after ordering, she said. While she can deliver some orders if they\u2019re local, for now, Thomas said she\u2019s trying to limit the service to pick-ups. Broadway in Long Beach, this Hollywood-based soul food restaurant chain is best known for serving chicken and waffles, but it offers more traditional menu items as well. Takeout options are also available. It also serves layers cakes, cupcakes, and \u201cJars of Yum!\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetdreamerydesserts.com\/\">Website<\/a>)<\/p>\n<h5><b>Smokin\u2019 Crackers &amp; Dips<\/b><\/h5>\n<p>We\u2019ve all seen that <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/hi-lo\/how-to-make-charcuterie-board-snack-board-cheese-oh-la-vache\">charcuterie craze recently<\/a>, and owner Michelle Roberts has the crackers and dips for your cheese board days. Specializing in comfort food, she sells vegan fries, chicken burgers, shrimp tacos and even makes her own hot sauce.
