Over 20 museums, including the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach (MOLAA), will feature the arts and culture of the diverse and myriad communities of Southern California.<\/p>\n<p>The SoCal Museums \u201cMuseums-Free-For-All\u201d program&nbsp;is for general museum admission only and does not apply to specially ticketed exhibitions or parking fees. This is the first year that the program has partnered with Metro, in an effort to encourage visitors to \u201cGo Metro\u201d to explore their museum of choice, many of which are just a short walk away from Metro Bus or Rail. Ashman, President and CEO of MOLAA, said, \u201c\u2018Museums-Free-for-All\u2019 is a wonderful initiative that allows museums in Southern California to demonstrate the importance they have for their communities. In addition to allowing all people to come in for free, it has become a regional celebration of museums and all of us who work in the cultural sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you can look forward to seeing at MOLAA on January 31, as well as Sunday, February 1, for Target Free Sundays. Say hello to an entire weekend of free Latin American arts and culture in Long Beach.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.molaa.org\/Art\/Exhibitions\/Esterio-Segura.aspx\">Esterio Segura\u2019s first solo exhibition&nbsp;in the U.S.<\/a>&nbsp;is an artistic expression of the Cuban-based artist\u2019s perspective on the country\u2019s current anxieties and its socio-economic and cultural state. The exhibition will be on display until February 22.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-33514\" style=\"float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/FordPiquettePlant.png\" alt=\"FordPiquettePlant\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>Showcased in MOLAA\u2019s Project Room, <a href=\"https:\/\/lbpost.com\/life\/arts-culture\/new-installation-at-molaa-investigates-two-ford-motor-company-towns-2\/\">Streamlined: Belterra, Amaz\u00f3nia \/ Alberta<\/a>, Michigan&nbsp;curated by Edward Hayes Jr., showcases the work of Brazilian artist Clarissa Tossin. Through a video and sound installation, Tossin examines two Ford Motor Company towns: Belterra, in the Amazon forest and Alberta, located in Michigan\u2019s Upper Peninsula, which were built at the same time in 1935; each town produced rubber and wood for the manufacturing of the Model T in the United States.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.molaa.org\/Art\/Exhibitions\/Transformations.aspx\">Transformations<\/a>, on display until May 24, 2015 in the Permanent Collection Gallery, gave five community members the task of choosing the artwork from MOLAA\u2019s permanent collection that they felt best described their emotional state before and after a life-changing event.
